About

A writing workspace built for academic work.

Copyeditor is the all-in-one academic writing workspace — draft with structure, cite as you write, paraphrase, check originality, and export, without juggling six tabs. It’s a product of Writence.

Beta opens this season — starting with students and researchers.

WHY WE BUILT IT

Academic writing deserves better than six tabs

The standard way to write a paper means stitching together a translator, a citation generator, a grammar checker, a paraphraser, a plagiarism tool, and a word processor — losing references at every hand-off. We thought the whole thing should live in one document, so the work spent on the writing isn’t lost to the plumbing. That’s Copyeditor.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Four convictions, built into the product

The product is opinionated on purpose.

Structure is most of the work

Good academic writing starts with an outline, not a blank page. We build the workflow around outline → produce → rewrite because that’s how strong arguments actually get made.

Citations shouldn’t be busywork

A reference should be entered once and stay correct forever. Tools that make you re-type keys or rebuild a bibliography per journal are wasting the part of your time that matters most.

Your language is an asset, not a handicap

Many of the best researchers don’t write English first. Drafting in your own language and bringing it into register is a respectable way to write — so we built for it.

Authorship should be documentable

Writers deserve a way to show how their work took shape. The Authorship Certificate documents process. It is not a claim of innocence — we’re careful to say only what it can.

The company behind it

A product of Writence

Copyeditor is built and operated by Writence, the company behind Diglot. Same engineering, same backend at app.diglot.ai — Copyeditor is the front we built specifically for academic writers, with the vocabulary and the workflow that work demands.

About the product and the company

What is the relationship between Copyeditor and Writence?

Copyeditor.app is a product of Writence. Copyeditor is the workspace built specifically for academic writers.

Why a separate site instead of one brand?

Academic writers have specific needs — citations, originality, reference managers, a documented process — and a specific vocabulary. A dedicated front lets us speak to that work directly instead of burying it inside a broader product.

Is the product the same as Diglot?

It runs on the same backend and shares core capabilities. Copyeditor leads with the academic all-in-one workflow; the underlying app is the one at app.diglot.ai.

Who is behind it?

Writence — see writence.com for the company. We’re building deliberately and onboarding students and researchers first.
